How long before sex after IUD?

I just had a Mirena IUD put in. How long until I can have sex? I have heard everything from 24 hours to 7 days.

My doctor told me the same day as long as you don't have discomfort

My doctor says same day also but protection. For at least 2 weeks you can still get pregnant. Between those two weeks because the iud can move thats why you can get it checked out a month after you put it on
