My step dad dated a woman one time.. She was kinda trashy anyway.. Her daughter was 13 years old. .. I was 19 at the time..  She told me she was going to put her on birth control because she would most likely start having sex soon.. I thought her encouraging it for that reason at such a young age was irresponsible on the moms part .. There were no talks about sex just her assuming her daughter would soon be having sex

I asked my mom about birth control when I was 16 because my periods were miserable. She said no but wanted me to get on it when she met my boyfriend at 18. I was pissed at my mom when I got on birth control and found out how much better regulated my period was with it. Birth control isn’t just to prevent pregnancy.

Old enough to bleed, old enough to...er, stop bleeding? I believe that periods are a good way to put a huge damper on a girls teenage years and the right birth control is a good way to stop that. On the other hand, I've always had strong sexual morals, use a condom, don't do it unless you're in love, etc. I've probably been on birth control for about five years, since I was 16, and only had my period for two years tops before that.

My mom pushed the idea of birth control early because my sister was pregnant at 17, so I got treated like I was having sex even though I wasn't thinking about it! I hated that she did that..

I was 13. I wasn't having sex at that age but by that age I was fully aware of what sex was, how babies were made and what not.
