I've always been very close to my mom but my friends seem to have very different relationships with theirs. How is your relationship with your mom?

My birth mother has lupus and I was placed in the home of an elderly couple from the time I was 9-19, since my mom was disabled and single and unable to properly care for me. It was more of a live-in babysitter arrangement authorized by a notary public. I talked to my family on the phone sometimes but the foster parents were very overbearing, controlling, and sheltering. My foster mom is the most unconventional, overbearing, and irritating person I've ever known. I maintain a one sided relationship with her to make her think I'm close to keep her happy, but I'm emotionally closed off from her. My birth mom and I, on the other hand, are closer than ever. I was reunited with her a year ago and we cried tears of joy ❤️

My mom and I have a complex relationship. We have been through a lot in our lives and it will most likely continus to be that way. But no matter what my mom is a very strong woman and I guess you can say I love her.

Ever since I had my son I've been trying to get along with her I've grown up a lot too but there's days were she just wants to pick a fight and it honestly hurts my feels I guess things can't change even when I try my husband as helped me a lot to get closer to her but when I try something she says has to ruin things :/ :(
