Any diabetics on here?

Just wondering if there are any diabetics on here?

​I'm type 2 dependent on insulin and have had my insulin increased nearly every week since being pregnant! 
​
​Have been told it is normal for a type 2 diabetic but I still feel teary about it since I have been trying so hard to keep my bsl in range perfectly. 
​
​They advised they are adjusting preemptively which is good though.  I'm just an emotional mess today lol.

Type 1 diabetic. BFP yesterday. A little nervous. Had my a1c drawn Friday before Memorial Day and was 6.0. Had a pretty bad blood sugar Monday morning after my insulin pump died. Got the new pump and things are going well. Hope that bad sugar didn't do any damage. All very nerve wracking.

I've been type 1 since I was 12 and just had my first baby last summer. He'll be one on Sunday! Pregnancy and diabetes is a hard mix. In the beginning you can become super sensitive to insulin and get a lot of lows, but then for me- as soon as the second trimester hit, so did the insulin resistance. I was using double the amount of insulin as I would normally. 1 unit for every 5 grams of carbs!! Crazy. As long as you are super diligent with checking (I checked like 10 or more times daily) you should be fine. Just know that your sugars will go crazy and just do your best to stay on top of them. I delivered almost 5 weeks early due to preeclampsia and my baby was 7 lbs 12 oz!! He was healthy though so just know that no matter what happens, a healthy pregnancy is possible! And it can be nice to get extra checkups too, so think of that like a perk ;) Good luck ladies! I wish you a healthy pregnancy!! Let me know if you have questions and maybe I could help!

Type 1 here and 16weeks pregnant with #1! It's been alright so far no real big concerns. Insulin resistance is starting to kick in with the 2nd trimester which is annoying. But it's all good!

I'm a new diabetic. I as diagnosed 6 months ago. I am 7w3d and my sugars have actually been ok since my doctor added glimiperide to my metformin! I'm still a nervous wreck about it but just trying to eat better and keep them down!

I'm diabetic too the first time in pregnancy it is very hard and I see the nutritionist every week and they change stuff or make me feel sad because my numbers aren't what they  want it to be. I'm not on insulin yet we have talked about it but they really don't want me on it because sometimes I miss eating a snack . It makes this pregnancy not as happy and comforting as the previous ones and I'm ready for it to be over versus enjoying it. I crave things and I feel this will be the worse holidays yet.

I was recently diagnosed type two and then a week later found out I was pregnant. I'm currently taking metformin.(sp?) they just upped me to 750 mg twice a day. I'm trying to avoid insulin. We had orders for overseas again and now of course that is 98% sure not happening while I'm pregnant. I honestly am so bummed about this pregnancy. Before I knew I was pregnant we were told because I have PCOS and I'm obese that my chances were slim. 😒 well my preggo eggo calls BS. I've never had a high risk pregnancy before and I haven't had a chance to be happy. The diabetic specialist reminds me every week of the birth defects my child could have. I hate having to hear it weekly. Due to the always being nauseous my diet has changed and I eats lots of toast sadly. So I'm currently trying to get back to paleo and low carb. What are your favorite low carb meals?

Hello 😊. I'm type 2 have been for 10 years. This is my 3rd pregancy. I have the same problem. My sugars keep going up quick too. I am on a strict diet trying my best to keep at target but it doesn't happen. My sugars this pregnancy have been going higher and having my insulin changed weekly as well. It is extremely frustrating. Thought I was the only one having to up doses so much so quick. I am only 12 weeks. 
Hopefully within the next month my doctors have discussed an insulin pump fingers crossed to get one 😊

I am diabetic (type 1) but am not quite ttc ready yet...getting my sugars controlled is a nightmare, especially around the time of my period...
