How many times has your husband deployed since you got married? How did you deal with the first deployment?

The key is to stay busy. Go to classes, find a job, volunteer, etc. The busier you are the faster the time will pass. Communicate when you can and be understanding when he can't. I also got a body pillow to fill up the vacant space in the bed. Not the same, of course, but it did help.

I made the gym my boyfrannnnn !!!! Lol
But just kept busy.  Made awesome carepackages.  It honestly goes by fast when your always keeping yourself busy with school , work and just doing hobbies you enjoy.  Even better when your with friends and family. I wasn't alone!!!  😊

He hasnt gone deployed yet but here in Travis it seems that they go deploy within the first few weeks of being here.Its so unfair!at least we are AFMP and that mkes him stay here for a year so I have some time to get used to the area,get my license,I want to get certified as a home care provider,etc.That would be extremely hard for me if he had to go now,Im spanish,this is my first base,I need to learn how to drive,get used to the language and coin,and we have a 3yo daughter

Home with friends and picked up new hobbies: hula, tahitian, Brazilian jiu jitsu [BJJ]. Unfortunately, I'm no longer participating in these activities because I'm pregnant.

He hasn't been deployment yet... But his company is being transferring battalions.. So we don't know what'll happen!

We just found out he is deploying right before our one year wedding anniversary. I'm trying to remain strong from him but I just want to cry. This will be his second deployment but first one as a couple

Five westpacs, plus one rimpac and dozens of underways. I was working two jobs and planning our wedding during the first (in 2002-2003,) and just was too busy to really focus on his not being there.

My hubby got deployed immediately at his first duty station so that was fun. Just dealt with boot camp and now that? But we did it and now his ship is starting to do underways to get ready for his next deployment ! So almost at deployment 2!

We have been very lucky with him on recruiting duty the last 3 years but our luck is coming to an end as he is leaving recruiting to return to the fleet and he's up for sea duty. We will experience out first deployment together next fall.
