I call my real dad, my father bc I don't respect him as a person. He's a bad person . To me, dad is more personal than father. Just my opinion though

A mother/father is the biological parents. A Mom and Dad are the ones that you actually consider your parents, biological or not.

Personally I would say it's the other way around. Anyone can be a dad, but it takes a real man to be a father. I don't talk to my real dad. My stepfather on the other hand is amazing. We have a very special relationship and he's the father figure I never had. I don't know, maybe they are interchangeable and there really is no difference. Bio dad, dad, father, I think it's whatever the person feels comfortable using.
