Will the pill make me gain weight???

I am hoping to start birth control pills soon. Will these make me gain weight or fat? I am 23 years old. My hormones aren't as crazy as they were during college.

No , the shot is the thing that causes the most weight gain side effects , the pill is the best way to go if your young it helps your skin , makes periods not so miserable , the only reason people hate them is because they have to take them everyday , but all in all they have the least amount of side effects! Back in the day it was more common for the pill to contribute to weight gain. Nowadays it is more of a placebo effect. The amount of harmones in most contraceptives today shouldn't cause you to gain weight.

Some pills will, and some won't. You just have to talk to your doctor and they will know which one will and won't, mine doesn't make me gain weight at all and it's mint flavored.

If you want to be on the pill remember that the hormones make your body think it's pregnant, you therefore gain weight. So taking a pill with less of the hormones will cause less "fake pregnancy" side affects. I take ortho tricyclin lo, no weight gain.

It depends, honestly. I've been on four different pills and gained weight with two of them. It wasn't substantial, but it was enough that I noticed. It depends on how your body reacts to different pills, really! If you do take a pill that causes you to gain some weight (again, it probably wouldn't be enough that it'd be noticeable to people other than yourself), you can always switch to another one, so don't worry too much!
