Periods are way off...

I haven't had a period in months. Since spring. Today I had a little bleeding. Is something wrong? I don't want to go to the DR. And have them look at my vagina. Does this mean I can't have kids.. I'm not sexually active. Never have been. I want kids. Any advice... Please?
