Does birth control change your body?

Question

So im going to be started birth control pills soon and i want to know if it will cause any changes in my body? Such as weight gain or bigger breasts? Or acne? If anyone has experienced things like this on the pill?

For me the pill didn't change my body, I'm just terrible at remembering. The nuva ring grossed me out, and I was semi hormonal. And the patch made me gain weight and I was very very hormonal and mean with taking that. I believe it's because there was too much estrogen for my body to handle. I like the pill the best, and I'm not ballsy enough to get an implation I'm my arm or get shots. Lol! Depends on you! I always asked when I was there. Just gotta try things out.

Be sure to ask your doctor and the nurse about symptoms and signs, it takes 3 months for your body to get used to the pill or any form of birth control. But if you're like me and the negative symptoms (like depression and suicide) keep occurring after the 3 months consult your doctor, they'll be able to get you on the right track, just be sure to ask any questions you have.

Everyone is different,  but when i was on birth control i gained weight and my period lasted about 5 weeks and then didnt show at all for an entire year

It depends on the person. I could never stay on any one pill "family" for more then 6 months. I always had side effects like acne, drowsey, weight gain etc. I know a few people who can't take hormones because it makes them crazy but there are still some that are fine with it. Give it a try though if you have side effects look into alternatives. That is what I did started with the pill for 8 years, IUD for 1.5 now I am doing NFP.

It can deffintely chane your body, but if you don't like what's happening you can talk to your doctor and switch.  The hormone levels might not be right.  Took me 2 or 3 pills to find the best one for me when I first started.

I only experienced bigger breasts....but not overly large.
