1st appointment struggle!

Rebekah
I got a bfp on Sunday and got my hcg levels checked on Monday. They were at 235. My dr. called and asked me to get re-tested on Wednesday to make sure they are rising. I called to make my first appointment as they told me to, and then they said to call after my second hcg test. They also mentioned that my first appointment wouldn't be till 8-10 weeks. I was 8 weeks when I miscarried. I know this is normal procedure, except for the second hcg, but I guess I am just concerned and was hoping for an appointment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think you can request an ultra sound at 7-8 weeks.  At this point they can 'date' the pregnancy and make sure there's a heart beat.  I've had two miscarriages so I hear ya.  The wait is torturous.

I would be really upset. I miscarried at 6 wKs but didn't find out until 11 wKs because that's when my first appt was. Really frustrating. I'm pregnant again and my Dr said he'd see me at 6 weeks as well this time.

I asked my dr for a referral to go get an ultrasound prior to my first apt since I miscarried in February. They put in the referral for me to get an early Ultrasound at 6wks to make sure the baby was implanted properly. My MC was due to an EP.

You just have to wait Hun. Here in the uk we don't get our first appointment until 10-14 weeks. We don't get our HCG levels checked either we just have a urine test when we find out then around 8 weeks or after we go for blood tests to check for diseases then our first scan. I understand your worried but realistically before 12 weeks there isn't much anyone can do to stop a loss and just because it happened you before doesn't mean it will happen again. It's hard not to stress but this is a separate pregnancy and things can be totally different :) be positive :)
