TTC with Fibroids?
Hi ladies - anyone else TTC with a fibroid? I have a submucosal fibroid that distorts my uterus, making implantation difficult and increasing the chance if miscarriage. Two different drs have recommended surgery but I really would like to avoid it if possible for three reasons:
1) I'm terrified of surgery;
2) the procedure they recommend (laparoscopy) is currently at the center of a huge debate due to the possibility that it can "seed" (spread) cancer to the abdomen if the fibroid is cancerous (99% of fibroids are benign but they can't tell you if your fibroid is cancerous until after surgery when the damage has been done); and
3) if I get surgery and then get pregnant, I have to deliver via c-section. No other options allowed because the surgery weakens the uterus too much and can rupture during delivery. That's another surgery! I don't want that!!
Any women out there have the surgery? Was it terrible? Could you conceive after? Or did you get pregnant without the surgery?
