Has anyone has to wait til a week after their missed period for a positive?

My friend was telling me that she got negatives with all 3 of her pregnancies up until a week after her missed period. Was wondering if anyone else was like that as well? I've been having a lot of symptoms and no period(mine is usually clockwork was due sept 29 and still no bleeding) but all my tests have been negative. So I was wondering how likely it would be to get A positive if I waited a few more days. Thanks for your time :)

Implantation happens 6-12 days. Plus some women have trace amounts of HCG in their system before pregnancy so theirs might show faster which is why a woman who's 13 dpo won't get a positive but someone who's 9dpo will. I'd wait and test again a week or so after your period is late.

My sister got a negative for her first until a week after AF was missed, with her second she got a faint line after 3 days late but it has never been on the day missed for her so last month I was a day late and she told me to hold off on testing for a few days becuase my hormone levels may not be detectable still... I think it all depends on the person though.

Implantation usually occurs between 12 and 14 days past ovulation.  Aunt Flo is due usually 12 days past ovulation. It can totally take awhile for the test to be positive after aunt Flo.  According to some articles I've read it can be up to a week for enough HCG to show up after implantation. You're not out until AF shows up! !! GL and Baby Dust to you!

With my first child I was actually three weeks late before I finally tested positive. Your best bet if you think it's a possibility is to get blood work done to find out for sure. Blood work will show a positive much sooner than a regular pregnancy test.
