I'm taking Azo, how long?

Hi!! I have UTI and I'm taking Azo pills:) can somebody tell me for how long do I have to take them? Or until when?

You can take it for a few days until you can get into the Doctor's office, but maybe sure you get in to see your doc because only an antibiotic can cure a UTI. Azo just masks the symptoms.

You need antibiotics! AZO DOESNT CURE UTIs. I have chronic UTI infections and without treatment the infection can travel up into your kidneys and you could end up hospitalized from the pain.

Cranberry doesn't work to cure a uti. It can help to prevent you from getting one though. Once you have a uti you really should get antibiotics

I'd take it a few days after symptoms  went away on the safe side. But azo and cystex never worked for me I always needed antibiotics. Keep up the cranberry  too!

You need antibiotics. That only helps with pain and can throw urinalysis results. They will send a culture and most likely put you on a 5 day cipro or 10 day macrobid. Take all antibiotics even if you start feeling better so it doesn't come back. No caffeine and increase water 64 oz per day. I have been through this a lot myself and treat this infection a lot where I work. If you dont get the antibiotics it will move further into the urinary system and become more serious. Until symptoms go away.. Watch your symptoms though you might need an antibiotic. AZO is usually used prophylacticly for recurrent UTIs... Or I take it when I get kidney stones
