Anyone else have anxiety/panic attacks?

Question

I'm 32, and have developed debilitating panic attacks. Not sure what they stem from. No trauma and I'm not stressed. I went to see my ob/gyn and asked her to put me back on b.c. Because I have a suspicion it could be my hormones. Anybody else have them, and what are your coping mechanisms?

I get panic attacks. My coping  mechanisms are taking my pulse (it helps me concentrate on counting and also reassures me I'm not dying/heart hasnt stopped) and I talk to someone or call someone to talk. Sometimes just changing the situation or focusing on something else helps it subside.

It's the worst feeling in the world, the more I thought about them, the more I got them..the more I got them the worse they got, it's a vicious cycle...talking to a counselor about it and being able to talk about my brother and my fears REALLY helped me get them under control and move on...I used to go threw about 6-12 a day, now I maybe have one once a week or every two weeks

I too suffer from these, although lately I have been able to control them. I found talking about it helps a lot. I also talked to my doctor about it and she prescribed an emergency prescription in case I feel out of control. Carefully paying attention to my diet, life. Even the weather has helped me figure out some of my triggers, which I have tried to eliminate where possible. Also exercise, yoga, and stay hydrated and sleep are all my go to strategies! I have recently started acupuncture too and I have found that my anxiety is starting to take a backseat! Hope you find a strategy that works for you, I once had to get off a plane and miss a trip due to a random panic attack! Panic attacks stink! All the best to you

I started getting these after my brother passed away two years ago, they used to be so bad that I would want to jump out of the moving car to get away, I would dump ice water on my head to force myself to snap out of it. Now that I'm pregnant, my way of coping is forcing a convo with someone, while I drive is when I get them the worse but if I'm able to hold and interesting conversation I don't get one. If I do I turn up the cold air and drink water

I have anxiety disorder. I recommend seeing a psychiatrist. They can prescribe something for you that will really help.

I do pretty often! I was on Xanax, but stopped before TTC and I have them so often now.

I have ptsd.. which triggers panic attacks which triggers depression. my doctors put me on an anti depressant (prozac) to put my panic attacks at bay. other then medication I haven't found a way to deal with it. good luck. it can get stressful. if you feel one coming on just relax. deep breaths.
