What should I expect when I go of birth control?

Besides pregnancy of course. Is it possible to skip periods?

I was on the pill for 4 years I went off because my moods wings were crazy and it wasn't  helping with my acne it made it worse...but I skipped my period the first month I was off then the second month is was 3 weeks long and heavy the entire time then this last month it was 4 days...and my face cleared up pretty well to.

I stopped taking the pill in August. My libido increased, I feel happier, less moody & can think clearer. However, it has been 60 days and still no period. This is frustrating, but supposedly common, and I plan to wait another 30 days before looking into it further. I was on the pill for 10 years and have read it can take up to 6 months for the artificial hormones to leave your system. SO glad to be off the pill so my body can figure out how to work on its own and I can determine any hormone imbalances I may have without them being masked by artificial hormones.

I had been on the pill since 13 for awful pms.. I tried to get off of it at age 19 and I had horrible symptoms. I was moody, depressed, missed periods, and had zero sex drive. When I got back onto it, all of the symptoms went away. However, when I was 21 I switched from the pill to the paraguard iud, and had no bad symptoms, and that was with a non hormonal implant. I can't explain why it didn't affect me the same way the second time, but I can tell you its worth it because your body will be naturaly regulating itself instead of having all sorts of synthetic hormones in you.
