Redness, Scaring, & Ingrown Hairs From Shaving

I started shaving young and have these (well, to me) disgusting looking razor bumps & scars all over my vagina area. Any suggestions on what to do to get rid of this? I no longer shave. I've been waxing for a year now. I get so insecure during sex that he'll see it & be disgusted. HELP! ?
