How long does your partner stay away from you?

How long does your partner stay away and do their duties whilst you are at home?  How long do they stay before they have to go back?

My husband is gone a lot due to his job and training schedule.  He is an infantryman in the USMC,  he is usually gone up to 2 weeks a month and is leaving for a month straight next week to get ready for a deployment a whole 13 months away.

Answer

It varies greatly. My husband's first unit was gone 6-7 months and back about a year in between, with a month here and there for training, etc. They were picking up the pace to home 6 months, gone 6 months when he got orders. Some units deploy for 3 months, some 6, some one year, some 18 months, and others not at all.
