Is it ok watching my little pony : friendship is magic?

I am 14 years old - and I love my little pony friendship is magic. It's that my mom and stepdad say that it's not ok. But my friend in school is a brony too. (Brony - mlp fim fan) Some people say that it's not normal to watch little girl shows. What do you think? ​

I'm 24 and still watch it on occasion. The only thing that bothers me about adult MLP fans are the ones who want to sexualise it and take it away from the intended audience. This is a show for young girls and if it's being made unsafe for bronies to get off to, that's when it's not okay. 
​As an adult, my favorite cartoons are Avatar TLA, Teen Titans (not TT Go. Ugh), Rugrats, MLP, and all Disney movies.

I'm 44 years old and STILL LOVE  cartoons.  I always watched cartoons with my four children as they grew up.   There is nothing wrong with you watching . I actually have the original
​My Little Pony barn and all the Ponies packed away from when I was approx 12 :)

I'm 29 and still watch that and cartoons lol idk but I probably alwayssss will - and I absolutely get made fun of for it all the time. But you know what? I really don't care about their opinions. I'm not hurting anyone, and the most important is what makes you happy- never forget that kiddo :)

I will always love cartoons! If it makes you happy do it! I still watch Arthur on pbs and I actually watched it daily until I was in high school! And that's only because I got home after it came on! I wish I had friends who liked it too!

19, love it to death. Ps. I'm a mermaid, and last year my father said I should grow up.  Mlp is awesome. Maybe you should try to convince your parents to watch it at least once?

I'm 30 and I have ALWAYS loved mlp. I watch the show now with my six year old... SON!

His poppa gets so upset with us. But what can I say? Apple Jack is so boss! I think my boy isn't as into it as I am.

I don't think u should disobey your parents. Ever. But I'm sure there are worse things a thirteen year old girl could watch than mlp.

Now, why don't they want you to watch it? You said it's too young for you. Or are you watching it all the time? Are your grades up in school? Are you staying up too late watching it? Do u enjoy other things like friends, dinner with family, church or school events, etc.?

If it's an obsession and its all you ever do then I say put the remote down and grab a soccer ball. But Apple Jack is still pretty boss. ;-)

Watch on! MLP is a great show with good messages. Don't let people discourage you from the things you like. As a con goer and cosplayer, I cannot stress enough how important it is to let your geek flag fly.
