Is it normal to get mad about... (Race)

Ok. So I'm European and Native American. I mostly look white but it annoys me when people (especially people I know) disregard that I'm not all white.

My husband is African and Hispanic. He often just gets referred to as African American and often is questioned about why he has a "Mexican" name. It doesn't seem to bother him.

Is it normal to get mad when people do this?
