Birth control in college

Amanda
I am currently a freshman in college and I have been talking to my boyfriend a lot lately about having sex. I think I'll be ready soon. I know I need to go on birth control before I have sex, but I don't have the money to buy it every month. My health insurance will pay for it, but does that mean I have to talk to my mom about it? My mom was a teen mother with my oldest brother so she is very against sex before marriage, so I am kind of afraid to talk to her about my sex life. I don't want her getting upset or disappointed in me.
