Am I ready for this?

Question

So, I'm 17, 18 in 13 days! My fiancé is 24. My parents like him, but have never been 100% happy with my choices. He supports me, loves me, makes me feel good, and does everything a man should do for his love/family. We would like to start tryin to conceive a child. I don't love with him though. I graduate in a couple of months and then move in. Is it wrong that we want to start trying? We both feel we are ready! What should I do?

I thought the same when I was 18. But then so much changed. I'm 25 now and married, but not to the guy I was with when I felt the way I did at 18. Looking back I know I was definitely not ready for kids. Ultimately it is your decision, but my advice is also to wait.

I wouldn't start TTC until you e lives together for a year two ideally but at least a year. Because trust me it chaned when you live together for one and two you haven't really experienced the real world just yet. Doesn't mean you aren't mature but at least get out their on your own live a little and than decide

She's right you need to experience all you can before having a baby. There's no harm in waiting. A baby just makes doing things a little more difficult. You have your whole life ahead of you. Live it up ?

You're still VERY young! I highly recommend waiting. I know the idea if having a sweet little baby with your bf is exciting, but it's also a HUGE responsibility! Be young and free for as long as possible! :)

I would definitely wait.  You should get married and live together first, it's best to get used to being a couple before you bring another life into your family.

I recommend waiting .. I got pregnant with my son at 19 ( planned) my fiancé and I lived together for 2 years and got along  amazingly, but being a parent is so difficult at times and adds stress in the relationship  .I say wait until you live together for a while ,  enjoy each other because after children especially for the first few years you'll barely get alone time!

I say wait because you are still young and don't need to rush.  I felt the same way at your age but I'm so glad i waiTed. My early twenties was so important in my life and it is for so many women.  That is the time you really grow and change and experience life.  I say wait a few more years at least and enjoy being young.  Once you become a mom,  you won't be able to put yourself first.

My now husband and I met when I was 17 and he was 21. We have both always known we wanted to have kids. About 5 years into our relationship we decided it was time so we planned a wedding and when I was 22 we got married and immediately started trying. To many I was still too young to get married but our marriage is strong and beautiful and amazing! We have two wonderful kids and a very happy life! What I'm saying is there is no reason to rush into having a baby. You should definitely wait.

Exactly!! Live girl!! You have no idea how much you change after high school! Love each other and see if you can stand and accept all of each other before you start trying. Love and spend time with each other before. Hell. Even travel!! Get a job that you like. Live!!
