Has anyone had horrible leg pain and cramps during the night. It makes it so hard to sleep. Were you pregnant when you get them?

Yes! It's called a Charlie Horse. I used to get them all the time. It's common and can mean you're sleeping in an awkward position or have to do with exercise, blood flow, or not having enough minerals in your blood (potassium, calcium mostly). It's really common during pregnancy because lots of times women are deficient in minerals.

I used to get Charlie horsed every night during my second trimester. It was horrible and woke me up constantly

I've learned taking a magnesium supplement helps A LOT! I used to get them all the time pregnant or not. And eat bananas.

I got them in my teen years and I started getting them again. I am currently pregnant. They usually happen in the third trimester. Eat bananas or mango and a ton of water they are mostly caused my dehydration. Stretching my calfs helps also.
