Sti check-yes or no?!

Should everyone have a sti check at some point??
I'm 26 years old and had 3 sexual partners, I've now been with my husband for 5 years and he's had 5 sexual partners.
I've never even thought about having an sti check but after talking to a friend who says she has one annually, I thought maybe I should?!

I get one annually, even tho I'm married and we are loyal, it's jus better safe then sorry. I think everyone should get one, if you've had more then one sex partner, and if you and your current partner decided to have unprotected sex..

My GYN performs an STI check at my yearly. It's part of the practice. I've only had one sexual partner whom I'm now married to, but it's still offered and it's covered by insurance usually.

I've never been tested for STD's or STI's until my husband and I were separated. I knew he was seeing other women during our separation, so when we got back together, I got tested.

My doctors have always automatically ran std/sti (when did they start being refered to as sti's instead of std's??) tests when I go in for my women's wellness appointments. Also when giving blood and during my marrow donation these test were ran.

Here in the UK they test you if your under 25 every time you see your doctor. But other wise I think yes annually you should get tested even if your with the same partner because you never know if they have been so faithful. I know it not a nice thing to say or think but it's true, you just don't know. So yeh get tested annually just to be safe
