How do you ask if you can have your boyfriend come over for the first time?

I am a teenager and am really wanting to know how to ask my parents if my boyfriend can come over. My parents are not the typical fun happy family. My mom likes to tell her friends everything. My dad is the same way. My mom is pretty nice but my father isn't. Someone please help!!!!

When I first started dating, I was always so nervous to ask my mom (single parent). I still am sometimes. For the first time, ask if you can have him over for dinner. It sounds really old fashioned but trust me, it's great. That way you can also see if they are compatible with your family (conversation, eating, etc.)

You can have him just come over and introduce himself or plan to go on a date with him and have him pick you up and knock on the door or ask if he can come over for dinner.  It'll get your parents familiar with him and set a good impression

I didnt really ask. Cause my parents werent the type to listen to me. I always just got them to come over and my parents met him then. It really just depends in the parents and their personality. How old are you?
