Could bleeding be normal?! Help!!!

Good evening I am 5w4d pregnant and experienced brown spotting last night when I wiped. I woke up this morning to more blood when I urinate. I was freaked out and went to the ER to make sure everything was alright. My HCG level came back at 1380 which the doctor said anything under 1500 is usually not seen on the ultrasound. I had a transvaginal ultrasound which didn't show anything. I have a follow up for 48 hours for repeat blood work to ensure my hcg is rising. This is my first pregnancy and I'm worried I may be misscarying. There is only blood when I sit on the toilet and after getting home there has been more blood. Could this be from the pelvic exam and transvaginal? I also have a history of ovarian cysts in the past which had gone away before this pregnancy. Has anyone else had similar experiences?!? Help!
