HOTDOGS and MISCARRIAGE ???!!

I had gone online and look up some info then I came across an article saying hat eating  hotdogs and deli ham during the first trimester can cause miscarriage or birth defects? Any thoughts on this??-

There is a small chance that cold cuts and hot dogs that aren't heated properly can carry listeria, to which pregnant women are a little more susceptible.  Just make sure your food is properly cooked and you'll be okay :)

My doctor said eat deli meat non toasted everyday is bad for the baby. It is okay to have once in a while but to be cautious in the first trimester. As for hot dogs I haven't heard anything bad as long as they are fully cooked. Grilled hot dogs are known to be safer an better that boiled hot dogs

I'm not sure how true this is, if it's true at all. But I guess it could be because the meat is processed. If that's the case the list would be way longer then hotdogs and deli meat. I'd ask your doctor.

It's also found in soft cheeses. Like Mozzarella. The key it heat like the other ladies have said. Just heat it and avoid cheesecake made of organic cheeses.  You'll be fine.

Raw meats in general can contain listeria which is otherwise in small doses won't harm us but can be harmful to the fetus.

I continue to eat meat daily, lean of course but always heated! ;) 
Opt for a toasted sandwich, much better then warm meat on bread lol!

same goes for salad bars, sushi etc. stay away from stuff like that!

Heat it properly and you will be fine. The problem is with raw deli meats and hot dogs. They can contain listeria.

I don't think it can cause a misscarriage, what freaks me out is that I ate a turkey sandwich 2 hours b4 I found out I was pregnet and miscarried 6 days later. I think I was trying to find ways to blame myself:(
