OPK help please ?

I've never used an OPK and I'm wondering when you start using them? When it's positive, does that mean you've already ovulated or are about to? If appreciate any help w this :) Thanks!

A positive will be that you will ovulate soon. 12-36 hours. This cycle was my first time using them so I started tested cd 8 which was two days after af stopped. I wanted to just test for a long time in case I ovulate early or late. I got them to just understand my body more. Glow always predicted i ovulate around cd 15 or 16 so usually my husband and I bd up until then and then take a few days break. Turns out, by using opk, I didn't get a positive test until cd18 meaning I ovulated around cd 19!! So we have just been timing it wrong!! I'm so glad I got the opks so we won't waste even more months bding at the wrong time!!!
