Baby monitors - do you need sensor mats?

What type or brand of baby monitor are you getting? Are you getting one that comes with the sensor mats?I'm wondering if the extra cost for the sensor mats is worth it or necessary?

You don't need them more like you'd want them. I had them for my first child who is now 5. It was called Baby Sense. There is a new one called Mimo where the baby wears it and it can link w/your iPhone and will even tell you body temp! It's amazing. I'm planning on getting it.

A friend of mine started a company called Sproutling that is making a baby monitor. It's an ankle bracelet that tracks the baby's heartbeat, temp, and learns their sleeping patterns so it can predict when the baby will wake up. It works with a smartphone to show the info. So that's what I'll be getting. Sounds pretty neat. They don't start shipping their product until March, but I'm not due until June so it works for me.

We ended up buying the Anglecare monitor that has the video monitor and sensor mats. We decided the cost doesn't mean much if it'll give us peace of mind so went with what others I know suggested. I'm happy with it and hopefully it works as we'll for us as it did for the people who suggested.

I'm getting the sensor matt. I had it with both my other boys and It gave me amazing piece of mind. I used the tommee tippee one and it is cheap on eBay
