Breakthrough bleeding?

So, because I'm curious as to why I've had pregnancy symptoms with a period that came a week early, i looked up why it would be like that. I stumbled upon breakthrough bleeding. Which apparently is some type of early bleeding. Has anyone heard of this. Or experienced it?
