Step parenting?

Anyone else a stepmom? It's so frustrating and difficult at times, and have no friends who can relate.

Mom of two and step mom to one (13, 2 & 6) I'm really down on the step mom thing right now. Bio mom is nothing but demonic drama and only wants to see her daughter when it's convenient and fits into her drinking schedule. She's super angry and hostile towards me... Yet I continue to love and take care of her daughter every day. It's very strange and confusing. Sometimes I wish I could just run away with my kids and leave dh to clean up the mess with his daughters mother. I feel so mean when I think like that ... I'm tired of being used so someone else can sit around talking shit. Oh well ... I DO still count my blessings. It's not all about baby mama drama. Anyone else sick of the bio mom bs? How do you deal?

When my fiancé and I first moved in together, his son's mother gave me a list of "guidelines" and examples. I am not to comfort my stepson (if he cuts his knee, his father is to get a bandaid, not me), I am not to provide anything for him (if he is hungry, his father should make his food, wash his clothes, etc.) He is not to be around my family, and if it's his time with his father, he is not to be at my family events or holiday things and we should see my family on other days as they are nothing to him. I am not to post pictures or reference my stepson on Facebook or any other public ways, as it is disrespectful to his mother.

There was nothing else I could do but laugh as this ridiculousness.

I have an 11 yo stepdaughter who respects me less than a stranger on the street. She's moving back in with her mom in a week and a half. I had to let her know today that if she decides to move back for high school and treats me the same way that she will be sent back to her moms and not allowed back full time. I've been a professional caregiver to children for 10 years and I've never had a child be so disrespectful towards me.

I have twin six year old step sons it's tough somedays but they both just recently started calling me mom as long as they know you care and you don't force your relationship they'll come around

I have a 15 year old step daughter whose mom does everything she can to manipulate time in order to keep her away from us. My husband and I have a 3 year old and another on the way and I would like them all to be close but my step daughter always has something to do. It's so frustrating!

I just became a step mom. The other night I was helping out my husband by putting water in the baby bottles and putting them in the fridge so it would be easier on him during the night. He has a 2 month old son. Well we were taking the mother and his son to his doctors appt. And I told her that I helped out by putting water in the baby bottles and she texted him later last night that I'm not allowed to help out when it comes to her son. He is not allowed to have his son over night or at our place anymore. He has to see his son at her place and only when she is home. Not to mention she has people there at all hours of the night. Smoking cigs and pot (in another room) and she's drinking along with everyone else then trying to take care of him when she is "tipsy" or "buzzed" when she does smoke weed. Cps won't do anything neither with the police. Its a constant fight with my husband and I and it's putting our marriage in a Vice.

I have a 6 year old stepson. I've been with his father since he was a baby but it is still hard sometimes. He used to tell me that he didn't have to listen to me because I am not his mom and that hurt me a lot. But now that I have children of my own it has gotten a lot easier.

I have two girls and one boy none are biological mine.  It's hard. I was also raise by a step mom and all I can say is show love but also be that strong mom they need beside them.  In my case both moms aren't very stable or loving.  I would like to believe I treat them as my own.
