having a fwb is absolutely awesome! no strings attached means both parties are having their needs met without the need for a romantic relationship (for whatever reason you don't want one). but it is CRITICALLY important that you set boundaries and talk about the nature of the relationship with the other person. my old fwb keeps hitting me up, saying he's always liked me and wants to be with me (and I'm incredibly happy and in love with my bf right now) so I wish I had known that he was feeling this way when we were "together" because I would've pulled the plug on the whole thing. the worst is when someone catches feelings and it isn't reciprocated. communication is key (:

My husband and I started as FWB, I started wanting more than that so we stopped talking for a month (we stopped talking on New Years three years ago and started talking by Valentine's Day) then we decided to take it slow and not do anything (that didn't work) then we decided we might as well date as we both liked each other and loved each other.
