First off. Take some ibuprofen before you go. Insertion is PAINFUL! That being said, I've been on it for about a year. At first cramping was horrid but it got better after about 8 months. Now I have virtually no period, just light spotting for about 9 days.
Mirena, thoughts?
So I went on depo provera when I was 14 and two years later I got off of it and went on the implanon and it's been 3 years now and I'm due to get it taken out and I think mirena is what I want to get next. I've done my research. And it would be nice to have lighter periods as I have irregular bleeding and heavy periods with a lot of cramping now. I have an appt with planned parenthood on the 17th to get it put in but I just want I be 100% sure. What are your thoughts about mirena? What was your experience with it like? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I love it! On month 8 ? my period use to be heavy all 7 days like a waterfall lol and now I spot for 4 days. In talking like a couple drops every 2-4 hours. The beginning was hard as I have never had a child and have a next to nothing pain tolerance. But after the first month it was heaven. I got a little bit more acne then I have ever had but it's cleared up. Totally worth it! I have noticed my hair is a little thinner so I started taking biotine pills. Highly suggest it ?
