Stay or Leave? Relationship advice

Would you leave your SO if you found out he lied to you?  My SO and I have been together almost a year and so "in love."  But I found out he lied to me and he admitted he lied because he didn't want me to get mad at him.  But now I'm even more mad!  Should I stay and work it out even though I don't trust him, or leave and have self respect?

My partner has lied about something tiny like that and I was livid but I wouldn't leave him over it! If you'd consider leaving over something that small are you sure you're really that in love?!

It sounds like a pretty harmless lie, but I totally get how infuriating it can be to hear "well I lied because I knew you'd be mad." I had one ex-boyfriend who lied about being married before. That's a big one. It was a good sign he was a bad guy for me - he lied because he knew I wouldn't have kept dating him. He misled me intentionally. That was just the first sign he was a lying, manipulative pig.

You have to decide if this is a deal breaker. He didn't exactly MISLEAD you, but he wasn't truthful. I would talk it over, honestly and calmly. He should be honest with you.

Lying is a big no no in my book. But it depends on how servere this lie was. If it's a little lie, I won't give up on him, but nor will I let that lie slide. I will make it very known he lost some trust.

He admitted it to you don't be crazy. Give it real thought it honestly just depends do you really want to be with him? If so then you need to find out a way to work it out. He was honest and came clean that's what counts. Now whether or not it's a deal breaker depends on what it is that he confessed
