Pacifier?

I'm jus starting to ttc and I've been thinking about it alot.. to pacify or not? lots of pros and cons. Thoughts?

That is such a tough question to answer because sometimes it depends on the little one and what they need for soothing. My LO refused a pacifier while I breastfed because LO ended up using me as a pacifier. When we stopped breastfeeding LO used the pacifier all the time. Now I'm trying to get rid of the damn thing.... :/ I know other kids that were offered pacifiers, and never took to them. No matter how they were fed.

I used one after a few days to settle him. He kept it til he got his teeth and chewed through them all. One night before he was 2 he said it's not working and put it in the bin. 
I didn't have one but my brother needed it.
All babies are different 
Get a couple just incase and let the baby guide you 
My friend has a teddy cloth thing and hers sucks the nose she's 11 months and doesn't need it anymore

My daughter had one until she was nine months old. We just stopped giving them to her and she never cried or got upset over it.

I do not want to get my baby hooked on something. I am going to breastfeed and do not want it to interfere with that either. Know way too many kids that need dental work because of a pacifer or sucking their thumb, my daughter being one of them. She sucked her thumb for so long. She has had braces on for 2 1/2 years now!!

My son had a pacifier and didn't want it anymore once he was about 10 months.  I can't say this happens to everyone but I will definitely pacify my next child.  They also say it's supposed to help prevent SIDS.

O lost my 6 months old daughter to S.I.D.S. back in 2003 after that I was told by a medical professional that the Pacifier can help keep S.I.D.S at bay because the baby doesn't fall into such a deep sleep sucking on the pacifier.

That depends on the baby. My son used a pacifier because I breasted him for the first year and there were times he was just using me as a pacifier. So I got him a pacifier so I could save my nips lol. But I know of other babies who refused to take a pacifier and never liked it. So it just depends on what your baby wants or likes

I would. My youngest sister sucked her index & middle fingers from birth and she is now 8 years old and still does it. My parents have tried everything to break the habit and nothing besides a pacifier for a short time would work.

Pacifier for a little while. He or she will want to suck and if no pacifier is offered they'll suck something else (fingers, thumbs..) and I personal like being in "control" of when it's available and have the power to cut him/her off after awhile before it's a bad habit.. If they learn to suck something else it's a harder habit to stop.. I believe
