Work/pregnancy??

When should you tell your work the news that your are pregnant??

As an infusion nurse I had to tell my manager right away.  It is best to avoid patients with particular diseases and chemotherapy/medications.  It all depends on your position in the home care/hospice field.  If you have direct patient care I would tell management early.  Good luck!

It depends on your work role and your boss. I told mine as soon as I knew so they wouldn't give me any trouble about needed time off or morning sickness, etc. But I also have a good relationship with him and knew he wouldn't discriminate against me or give me trouble.

I work as a nurse in an ICU... I told my manager almost immediately. We often times have difficult and aggressive patients, or work in situations with radiation and I didn't want to get put in a position that would jeapordize me or baby!!

It completely depends on the type of work you do I think. I work in retail on a shop floor so will probably tell them at 12 weeks when pregnancy is definitely viable x last time I told them early as I freaked and they stripped down my extra hours to my base amount and there was no extra support given,  but again it probably all depends on the company you work for x
