When to test for ovulation after miscarriage?

I had a d&c 11/11 I am still bleeding.
Just trying to figure out when I can start trying again. When should I take an ovulation test? And when should I expect my period? My doctor said we can start trying again 6 weeks?? I have my apt next Monday so I'll ask more questions then but jw. It's very confusing! Thanks!! ?

I had a very early, natural (5  week) m/c on 11/1. I am ovulating now. I first made sure I was getting negative pregnancy tests. I think that was around 8 days after first started really bleeding..then I began ovulation strips around day 11. I would normally o on day 15 or 16 of cycle. Today is day 17 (counting day 1 of real bleeding  cycle day 1) and I'm getting ++!  My hubby and I decided that when my body is ready it will get pregnant again, so we aren't waiting. Just letting God and nature take over!
