Has anyone tried stethoscope for fetal heartbeat? Any luck, if so which week?

My mom said she used one to listen to my heartbeat every night. It can be done.

I have a fetal doppler I got on Amazon. It was challenging at 12 weeks to track down baby, but at 19 weeks, he or she can't run from me now! ?

Have been trying since week 6 (a bit ambitious obviously) but even hearing the movement in fluid is amazing. I have still not heard a heart beat though at 22 weeks, but still hoping!
