I am from Michigan and birth costs in the U.S. Can be quite high even with insurance.  Does anyone know if you give birth in a Canadian hospital, if you are charged the same as a Canadian resident? Or is there a penalty for a US citizen?  Or would my insurance be charged and I have to pay crazy fees?   I do not want to take advantage of the citizenship for my child, I just want an affordable way to have my child at a non extorted price.  I live in the boarder or detroit and Windsor and this could be possible for us.  I do realize that this sounds shady.  I guess baby fever will make you consider some un savory choices.  :-/
