Is it uncommon?

A few years back, I developed hemroids. It would only bother me occasionally, up until recently. Now, when I shit, more often than not, my anus bleeds. I know it's must likely stress and diet. I just want to know that it's common and I don't need to go to the doctors.

Ps. I do not have anal sex.

They can cause bleeding or it's from fissures. If it's a lot of red blood you need to go to ER because it's indicative of lower GI bleeding. if it's black and tarry it's indicative of upper gi bleeding. If you're having pain go in. Also perhaps upping your fiber intake.

I'm the same way. I had the colonoscopy procedure done and now I have the exact same problem again(6mo later). I think I need more fiber in my diet. I'm going to try benefiber and see if that helps. I'll let you know. Hopefully everything gets better for you!

Depending how much blood I would consult your doctor.  You never want to mess with bleeding from the rectum.  If it doesn't seem like hemmerhoids or you have any question, go to the dr.

Had this same issue, I did not go to ER just made an appointment with a GI doctor who told me I had some internal hemorrhoids and a slip rip in my anus that was healing and then ripping with each poop. He gave me a medicine I put on the area for two weeks which really helped. I stopped it and was fine but eventually had the issue again and he basically said its ok such a delicate area I might always have the issue. So I use miralax to soften my stools so they don't cause damage.

Is it uncommon?
