Should we allow minor marriages??

If we think minors are capable of a decision like marriage then they should be charged as an adult when it comes to breaking the law. You want to be treated as an adult, you'll be treated as an adult completely.

I got married at 17 and I wouldnt have it any other way. You cant judge somebody and tell tell them they cant get married because they are young that is ridiculous!

My mom got married when she was only 16 (my dad was 19), she had to get her parents permission and I think that's how it should be.  If minors could get married whenever you know how many would be married at 15 just to be divorced in 6 months?

Hell no! If I was allowed to get married as a teen I would have married my punk drug dealing ex boyfriend and my life would be horrible! We had an on and off relationship from the age of 13 till I was 18. Half our relationship he spent in jail and I still thought I loved him more than anything! When i see him now I always thank my mom for setting me straight about him.. Ugh, I was such a stupid kid! Lol

I don't believe in that because when your young like that all those feelings are new and so stronger and passionate but the sad truth is that we all change and honestly it's important to find yourself and live before getting married I also believe that there would be more divorces if that was allowed but that's me and I believe in that because of what happened to me and my young engagement I m so happy I called it off and I m still young and have met a better person

Actually in North Carolina, you can get married as a minor. You just need parent or guardian consent. I'm 17, and already have consent to marry my boyfriend.

I think there are always exceptions to every rule -- however as a general rule, no. Minors are not mature enough to know the gravity (or longevity) of those kinds of decisions. Minors are still growing and hormone and personality changes.
