Anxiety medication side effects?

I have recently having trouble sleeping but still could manage to force myself to sleep. Mostly because i have tingling sensation and head feeling funny. So the doctor said im experiencing minor anxiety attack and prescribed me Zoloft 25mg/day for 1 week and then continue on week after just on every other day, today is my third day having it.

The first day i was feeling find but the second and third night i couldnt sleep at all. Everytime i closed my eyes and almost falling to sleep, felth like something cold crawling(cramps like) under my skin especially arms, thighs and back of the head. Funny thing is i dont feel tired at all the next day.

Called my doctor, he said it couldn't be possible from zoloft cos it suppose to make me relax. I feel like im going crazy especially night time when everyone else asleep and im cant.
Is it from the medicine? If it does, should i stop taking it? Anyone ever experience in this?

Hi! I have severe anxiety and depression and absolutely feel that this is the wrong medicine for you!!! Weining yourself off is difficult but because you've not been taking it long you should do ok. Some doctors honestly love to just write prescriptions and not actually help with words, very frustrating. I work out and do martial arts to help myself...make sure you are getting YOU time. Are you on any other medications? Not everything mixes, good luck

Anxiety meds are anxiety meds because they slow down your body processes and depress neural activity, which is what calms you down when you're having a panic attack or are in a stressful situation. So, it wouldn't be your meds in this case, since it's doing the opposite, OR the medication isn't compatible with you and you should try another one. Talk to your doctor more about it!

I took Zoloft for two+years and it never made me feel that way. It always made me sleepy! I'm sorry you're going thru that! It doesn't sound fun, I wish I could be of more help!

I've been on Zoloft before,  don't quote me but it's an anti depressant not anxiety meds.  I've never heard it being used for anxiety.  I'm also not a doctor lol
