Period won't come

So for the past 6 months my period skips every other month and when it does skip it's only light spotting and I get horrible cramps that have me to were I can't move I've taken pregnancy test even from the doctors and they came out negative I barley stress but me and my boyfriend do have intercorse a lot... What's wrong with me?
