I'm bisexual and married to a man. All my friends are gay and I'm in the closet because I feel awkward about being in a monogamous straight relationship. I feel like I might be perceived as attention seeking by labeling myself as "bi" when my days of sleeping around are over.

My husband knows that I've had sex with girls. I told him when we were dating when that sort of sexual history stuff came up. I didn't tell him I was bi, I didn't feel the need to put it that way. I grew up in a conservative Christian household. Even when I left that behind and lived life differently for a decade, I still found it difficult to admit to myself that I am attracted to women. Even after I slept with women, I thought to myself "oh, I just did that for fun, just playing around . I'm not really a bisexual person."  Finally I was talking about past sex partners with a friend and she was shocked to know I'd been with women. I said something about how I wasn't really into it, I was just experimenting. But that got me thinking, was I?

Then I was pregnant with my daughter and I just had all of these thoughts come up about how she will view her sexuality and how I will be honest with her about myself in order to guide her. Well, I started thinking I really need to be honest with myself before I can be honest with her.

I opened myself up to the idea and suddenly I was so at peace within myself. I felt confident that I knew who I was and that I could declare it, at least to myself, for the first time. And I told my husband. Yes, I came out to him after we were married! He was not surprised of course because he tends to know me better than I know myself. I still haven't told my friends and not sure I will. Friends come and go. But I know who I am and I'm confident to share that with my daughter. And that's enough for me for now. :)
