As a child from divorced parents you should try your hardest not to let your feelings interfere with their relationship with each other

I have a 8yr old son with my ex husband. Even though we are divorced I still believe that my son needs a good relationship with his father. It took a while but we are finally to the point that we are civil with each other. I dont want my son to see us angry at one another cause he needs to know that he can come to either one of us and that we both still love him even though we are not married anymore. My son also gas an amazing step father who is also the father of his sister and hopefully sometime soon another sibling that we are trying to conceive.

My parents let their feelings affect us kids now I unfortunately don't have a relationship with either of them. I never want my kids to feel like they have to choose between parents or feel unstable. I share custody with my ex of his daughter and she knows everything is the same at both houses and that mommy and daddy are friends it took a long time but him and I get along great now we don't always agree but we try to teach her how to handle conflict productively. She is a very happy little girl. Both her dad and I have married others and to her it's just more family. We even get together during the holidays to celebrate together so neither of us our left out and she never misses either of us.

Never. Unless there was a legitimate reason for keeping a child from their father like if he was abusive.. Any other reason, no. It only hurts the child the in the long run. Every child needs a mother and father. Sadly, there are many mothers out there who keep the child from their father for spiteful reasons and that hurts the child the most.
