Birth control

What are the Orange "reminder pills" or "inactive pills" for? Are you supposed to take them when you finish the white active pills or are you supposed to take them when you miss an active white pill? I just started birth control Sunday night and I'm taking it because my seizures are happening the day I start my period so my doctor thought it would help control my hormones so he told me not to take the Orange inactive pills but I'm so confused after reading the pamplet
