Age gaps?

I've grown really close to a friend recently. I'm 20, and he's almost 16. He told me the other day that he's got strong feelings towards me and last night told me he loves me. I'm not encouraging his feelings towards me, as I'm well aware that he's pretty young compared to me. I told him he should focus his feelings on a girl his own age but he said he doesn't care about the age difference.

So I guess my question is what are your views on the age gap? I feel like if he was 20 and I was 24 or he was older there wouldn't be a problem..

(I'm well aware that he's 15. This isn't about sex and me going to prison for the fact he's underage- it's about feelings)

I dont think age makes a difference, however. I would say a lad at 15 has a different view of love than a lad whos 25. If he does persist i would say be friends for a year then if he does still feel the same for you to tell you then. Im not putting a downer on things, i just think a 15 year olds feelings can change quite rapidly, mine did when i was 15! I fancied a new guy every few months haha!

I agree with a connection is a connection. My husband and i are 21 years apart and the age difference doesnt matter to either one of us from the start of our relationship. We complete each other. We are madly in love and enjoy eachother. 
Just make sure its not puppy love for him. He is so young and he may not realize or know what real love is.

I'm 20 as well and I've had friends younger brothers say thing like this and then the next week they are saying it to a different girl. I feel like guys that age are still maturing and they aren't sure what they want. I've dated guys a year younger than I am and I feel like I'm babysitting them.. my fiancé now is four years older than I am and I feel like we are the same age maturity wise. If he keeps going after a year or two then maybe but personally 16 is young and it sounds like you feel the same. Just state how you feel and hopefully he understands and you two can remain friends (:

I'm 20 also and my boyfriend is 33. I prefer older men because I'm a little more mature for my age and I'm focused on settling down and starting a family very soon. So an older man is ready for that usually. If you're more into partying and having fun, a younger guy can be good. Anyway, go with your heart

I connection is a connection and age doesn't matter when it comes to the heart/soul. My only advice is don't make it sexual relationship if it gets to that until it is legal wherever you are!

When I was 17 I was with a guy that was 34. Then after him, I married a guy that was 19 years older than me. Unfortunately he passed away. But my husband now is 8 years older than me. I honestly have to say it is about the connection you have with someone and not so much about the age. I have never really got along with people my own age. However, I have always felt like I made better connections with people that were older than me. I would say just keep concentrating on yourself and if in a couple years there is still a connection between you than there might actually be something worth trying.

It's probably the lust that you're a 20 year old girl. At 15, boys think older women are the best. I'd hold off.  Been there done that. It's not worth it and he doesn't know what he's feeling.
