What is PCOS?

I have been ttc for 8 months. I am overweight but didn't think that would make this so hard. Wondering if something else could be wrong.

Symptoms are: weight gain or trouble loosing weight, extra body hair (like facial hair), acne, constant tiredness, little or very infrequent ovulation and/or periods, and higher risk of diabetes. When I was diagnosed at 21 the dr didn't even do tests to confirm because he said that they could take a picture of me and put it in text books. My SO and I have been unofficially trying for 2 years and still nothing. This next year we are going to be contacting doctors and tracking even more.

Have you had your progesterone checked? I'm also ttc and that was the first thing they checked. Mine was low  but even since I got it up where it needs to be it hasn't helped me concieve. My husband was checked and he's fine. I'm wondering too was is wrong when they tell me everything looks fine. It's been over 2 yrs now. It gets so depressing.
