Funneling of cervix??

Question

A week ago I had an ultrasound and my doctor told me that apparently the sac that the baby is in is funneling towards my cervix. So she took me off work and said no lifting heavy things and said I'm on pelvic rest. She said that since I'm just shy of 20 weeks that this is really bad because I could potentially start dilating soon. I've noticed the last 3 days I've had a lot of blood tinged mucous and discharge and have been having horrible cramps. Then when I went to the bathroom today it felt like something was falling out of me. I went to women's special care and they did a urine test and checked to see if my cervix was open and it wasn't, but it was really soft. They said there is nothing they can do if I go into labor and sent me home, putting me in bed rest for the night and said to come back in the morning to do an ultrasound with my OB doctor. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I'm list as to what to expect and know it's serious but I just don't think it's hit me as to how serious.

Hoping they can help you. If that means bed rest for the next 18-20 weeks u may have to. Praying for you

That's not true that there nothing they can do if you go into preterm labor! I went into labor at 22 weeks! Contractions 2 minutes apart. They gave me a Terbutaline shot in my upper arm which stops contractions until you are in the safe zone which is 30 weeks. And it worked. I carried her till 37 weeks then went into labor again.

I went to the docs too because I can feel my cervix opening. Well they said I was dilating, put me in a contraction monitor and bed rest. They also did a preterm labor test to see if I could potential

How is there nothing they can do?? I had a friend who's cervix was opening at 16 weeks and they sewed it up! And another went into preterm labor (like countless others) and they gave her a medicine to stop it. If this is enevitable as they say.. Then they should be giving you steroids and the meds to stop labor and sewing you up.. And putting you on full bed rest..
