Maternity clothes?

Hi, everyone!

I'm only 6 weeks pregnant, and won't be telling my family until Christmas. And then I won't be announcing at work until after the first trimester. 
My question is... How long should I wait to start looking for some maternity clothes. I've bought a few non-maternity clothing items that are one size up and/or loose fitting to get me through the next few weeks, but curious to see how long you're all waiting to buy maternity-specific items. Also, what's the first thing you'll buy?

Some woman get away with very little maternity clothes and are able to wear lots of their own clothes through most of their pregnancy. And some don't lol... I am just ttc #3 and have already ordered some cute tops. I have been on zulily.com way too much lately and can't pass up some of the deals?

Maxi dresses! I'm only 6 weeks as well but maxi dresses will fit and pretty much flatter your body at any point in your pregnancy. I've also heard of a belly band-I'm going to check into those too! Happy shopping :)

Im 24 weeks and i can still fit into my jeans that i was wearing at the beginning of my pregnany and still have alot of room to grow in them, but shirt wise i have maily tshirts and those range from m- xl depending on how there made so it really just depends how big you are now and how big your dr thibks youll be just buy things maybe a little loose on you now with some room to grow!!

I started buying at 6 weeks but just a few things I needed then like 1 or 2 maternity bras and I bought these maternity leggings that can be worn before I show and while I'm showing. I bought a few shirts cause I already had a few big shirts that fit loosely befor I was prego. You can go anytime you want it's just hard to tell how big you need the clothes cause sometimes women's bumps are small or huge.

I already bought one pair of maternity jeans and I'm only 6+1. My normal jeans fit perfectly before so even a little bloat makes them too tight for sitting in. I'm waiting for the rest until I get bigger.

I just bought the pants with the elastic band(amazing!) and a few shirts. I figure I won't need them until I'm further along(19 weeks now) but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Not a whole new wardrobe just some essentials until you really don't fit into anything.

I have been looking specifically for nursing tops... lots are made to go from pregnancy to postpartum and are very handy when in the hospital to feed for the first times(helps cover up and undercover what's needed) and when having to feed around other people

I'm 17+2 and just bought a couple maternity sweater shirts and a couple belly bands. It really depends on how soon you start showing. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I have high waisted leggings that I wear for yoga. I plan on continuing using them until I give birth since I can fold them down when my belly grows.
