Bleeding at 8 weeks

I started spotting Friday and have continued to spot everyday since. Now it is more of a flow like my period. I'm eight weeks pregnant. Went to doctor this morning and got to see the heartbeat and they say everything is fine.. But in scared. I'm still bleeding and now I'm cramping a little bit. Is this common?
